Bishop Calls Out Funke Akindele And Siblings For Shunning Their Father’s Burial
The Bishop of Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Ikorodu, Rt. Rev Samson Osundina, has expressed his disappointment in Nollywood actress Funke Akindele Bello and her siblings over their absence at their father’s funeral.
It was gathered that none of his four children of Revd. Godwin Olusoji Akindele were present at his Service of Songs and burial at Ibeshe, Ikorodu, Lagos.
Late Revd. Godwin Akindele died at the age of 73 on Saturday, December 7, 2019, after a brief illness.
While delivering the burial sermon, Rev. Osundina thanked the children for taking care of their father during the times he was ill, but emphasized that being present for their father’s burial was a way of paying their last respect to their father.
Rev. Osundina however, suspended the usual outing and thanksgiving service which are final programs in Christian’s burial, till the deceased’s children are available to attend.
He then urged them to retrace their steps by making amends wherever necessary.
Funke Akindele has reportedly been in Dubai in the company of her friends.
