The Lagos State Government earlier in the week announced plans to commence total enforcement of the 2012 state Traffic Law on activities of  Okada and tricycles on restricted routes and bridges.

According to reports, the ban on motorcycle and tricycle which is to take effect from February 1st, restricts riders from plying 15 local council areas of the state.

The peaceful protests is coming after managements of Gokada and Max NG ride-hailing services made an appeal to the state government to rescind the decision.

The peaceful protest was from Oregun road to Lagos State House of Assembly at Alausa, Ikeja.

Bearing various placards, the protesters appealed to the state government to regulate their services as they lament that the business is their only means of survival.

The riders later submitted a petition to the lawmakers, who came out to address them. The member representing Alimosho Constituency, Bisi Yusuf, who represented the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, urged them to obey the law pending when the House would look into their petition.
