‘Power’ Star, Michael Rainey Jr. aka Tariq, Receives Over 300 Death Threats For His Role In TV Series
One of the main cast of Power, an American crime drama television series, Michael Rainey Jr., who plays Tariq claims he has been getting real-life death threats over the role he played in the fictional show.
The television series which has elicited a wide range of emotions over its compelling and intriguing narrative, has made some fans get overly emotional.
Rainey took to his Instagram account sharing two selfies of him having a confused look with the caption; “Me going through my dms tryna figure out why I have 326 death threat messages,” accompanied by two raised eyebrow emojis.

Naturi Naughton, who plays his mother and Ghost’s wife, Tasha, on Power, commented on the post with two laughing and two face plant emojis.
LaLa Anthony, who starred as Lakeisha Grant in the show, also commented with numerous face plant emojis.
Hopefully, none of the threats Michael Rainey Jr. received would have a real meaning to it.
