Twitter Users Attack Toke Makinwa’s Reaction To Viral Video Of Woman Who Assaulted Her Husband’s Lover In Lagos
A viral video showing a woman viciously attacking her husband’s lover at Ikeja City mall has gone viral.
The video shows the woman physically assaulting the alleged girlfriend of her husband, who did nothing to resist or defend herself.
See video below:
As expected, the video evoked mixed reactions amongst Nigerians on social media. One of such persons is media personality Toke Makinwa, who addressed the video, and gave her opinion on marriage and responsibility as a whole.
Her first set of tweets below:
The video of the wife harassing her husband’s side chick at the mall got me feeling all types of way this morning

I wish she kept the same energy for the Cheater, like no one owns another human being and the least you can do is fight the human that broke the vow he made to you.
— Toke Makinwa (@tokstarr) January 8, 2020
She’s very lucky the lady kept trying to walk away, if she stacked her back the wife would feel worse. Bad enough you got cheated on, then you get beat too
— Toke Makinwa (@tokstarr) January 8, 2020
She continued to share her train of thoughts tweeting:
I think the whole marriage concept of “owning” your partner is flawed. You do not own anyone, you are not responsible for another’s action, it should not drive you mad
— Toke Makinwa (@tokstarr) January 8, 2020
Two people make a choice to do life together, one person defaults on promises/vows, it is not a reflection of you, don’t lose your peace over another human being.
— Toke Makinwa (@tokstarr) January 8, 2020
In one single action, she’s made the alleged side chick an angel, the girl walked away while the woman looked hella crazy. Resist the urge to let another’s action make you crazy
— Toke Makinwa (@tokstarr) January 8, 2020
The side chick she attacked might not be his only indiscretion, she’s even made them closer. The man is probably begging her right now. As a woman work on yourself, don’t lose you to nobody
— Toke Makinwa (@tokstarr) January 8, 2020
Don’t let another’s action be a reflection of who you are.
— Toke Makinwa (@tokstarr) January 8, 2020
Many Twitter users however disagreed with her point of view especially the tweet below, even though she had explained what she meant in the series of tweets that followed( above).

When you are in a relationship or marriage, your actions have direct impact on your partner, you are not only accountable to them, you owe it to them to be of your best behavior.
I have gone through @tokstarr‘s timeline & I don’t understand why you people are dragging her. She didn’t say anything wrong today, but you people are dragging her. I guess myself & her are on the same page today. She made a lot of sense. “WOMEN, BUILD YOURSELVES”. Efi Toke sile

I checked Toke’s tweet and I get where she’s coming from.
— Peng Man 🔥 (@mjjuniormodel) January 8, 2020
I even thought she said something bad.
Maybe it’s the way she put it or because it’s from her but she’s trying to say never let another human being fuck with your mind so much that you do what that married woman did.
Toke is that woman everyone loves to attack even when she speaks truths.

It doesn’t matter if she tweets 1+1=2, y’all will take offence.
Simple “work on urself” and u pple are bringing in her marriage, as if she didn’t work on herself, wrote a book and became a boss lady. pic.twitter.com/V1kOXUYFFl

Lol. You’re wrong sis. Very very. Marriage isn’t some sort of contract. You always miss the point sigh. Both partners owe it to each other to make it work come rain come, come shine. So all that you stated is premium okoto meow meow skrrrr tbh

Her tweets and people’s reactions has led to her being one of the most discussed topics in Nigeria on Wednesday afternoon.
Toke is however not new to controversies and being ‘dragged’ on Nigerian social media. But despite the censure and acerbic remarks which sometimes bothers on direct attacks to her person, week in, week out, she shares her opinion on varying topics refusing to cower or give in to cyber bullies.
