APC Youths In Bayelsa Riots As Supreme Court Sacks David Lyon
APC Youths have taken to the streets of Bayelsa state to riot and protest the Supreme courts’ order that sacked David Lyon as governor of the state.
On Thursday, February 13, the Supreme court nullified the election of David Lyon as the governor of Bayelsa state.
This led to youths of his party setting ablaze items on Tombia junction in Bayelsa while rioting against his sack
Some of the youths could be heard chanting:
“No David Lyon No Governor”
The Supreme court made the judgement barely 24-hours to Lyon’s inauguration.
The apex court presided by Justice Mary Peter-Odili nullied the election of Lyon on the grounds that his deputy, Senator biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo presented false information to INEC in aid of his qualification for the November 16 governorship election in Bayelsa State.
