Gospel Singer Tope Alabi Reacts To Being Criticized Over “Worldly Dance” Video
Nigerian gospel singer, Tope Alabi has reacted to being criticized on social media over her dance video which went viral over the past few days.
The singer was largely criticized by some social media users, who claimed that she is deviating from her spiritual faith due to her fashion sense and worldly dance step.
Though some jumped to her defense, stating that she could dance which ever way she chooses, the singer has now reacted to the whole drama.
Reacting to the video in an interview on TVC’s “Wakeup Nigeria”, Tope Alabi stated that “she needed that dance at that time”. According to the gospel singer, she was dancing at her father’s burial and people with “spiritual eyes” will understand its meaning.
Tope Alabi explained that;
It was at my father’s burial and the praise was organized by most of my gospel artists friends to just worship God after the waykeep. I need to worship God, I just need to. It’s not easy to bury your father. Some people die before their father. So if you are spiritual, as a spiritual person, you know you need that dance.
