Japanese company Tone Mobile has launched world’s first smartphone which prevent users from taking “inappropriate” (nude) photos in order to protect children from sexual predators.

The Tone e20 phone is not a particularly attractive physically or by its specifications but it does one thing that no other phone in the world does – it uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to prevent users from taking nude photos of themselves or anyone else.

The phone company says the phone is aimed primarily at parents who want to ‘protect children from predators.’

Users can also ‘connect’ with other devices and notify their owner if the connected phone has clicked an inappropriate photo.

The phone’s primary feature which is called Smartphone Protection uses its image-processing algorithm to determine if a photo taken is a nude. If it is, the algorithm won’t let the phone user save the image in gallery.

However, the feature is only connected to the smartphone’s camera, so it won’t stop the phone user from downloading nude photos from the internet.

The phone which majorly stands out for its nude photo prevention system is priced at $180 and is currently only available in Japan.
