Just In: Fire Outbreak At Owerri Airport, Imo State
A fire outbreak suspected to be as a result of bushfire has been reported at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, Imo State.
The cause of the fire is still unknown but the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs Henrietta Yakubu, described it as a bush fire.
As at press time, firefighters are currently working to control the spread of the fire.
It would be recalled that in April, 2019, a section of the arrival and departure parts of the Airport were razed down by fire outbreak.
