The Managing Director, Lagbus, Mr Idowu Oguntona, disclosed this during the weekend, following scarcity of buses and transport fare hike by commercial drivers as a result of ban of motorcycles and tricycles.
The restriction ban commenced on Saturday, February 1st, 2020 as the Commissioner of Police (CP) , Hakeem Odumosu deployed officials to enforce the ban on ‘okadas’ and ‘keke napep’.
Oguntona explained that the need to deploy more buses, became necessary in order to cushion the hardship commuters might face as a result of the restriction order in some parts of the State.
The LBSL will extend its services from tomorrow to the following new routes and with specified transport fares are:
- Ikeja – Ogba: N100
- Berger – Ogba: N100
- Ikeja – CMS: N200
- Oshodi – Ajah: N500
- Obalende – Ajah: N250
- CMS – Ajah: N250
- Inner Marina – Ajah: N250
According to Oguntona;
Extending the services of the company to these locations will help reduce the vacuum created by the restriction order of Lagos State Government on Okada and Keke operators in some areas.
While maintaining that commuters will enjoy the pleasure and comfort of riding in the new buses along the routes, Oguntona disclosed that more buses would be deployed by the company shortly.
