Olamide And Fireboy DML Goes Global, As YBNL Signs Joint Venture Deal With America Record Label, Empire Distributions
Nigerian singer and indigenous rapper, Olamide Baddo has announced that his record label, YBNL, has signed a joint venture deal with American record label and publishing company, EMPIRE Distribution.
EMPIRE Distribution, Records and Publishing Inc. is an American distribution company and record label founded in 2010 by Ghazi Shami and headquartered in San Francisco, California with offices in New York City, London, and Atlanta.
Empire has partnership deals with big hip hop music acts like Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, SZA, XXXTentacion, Tyga and the likes.
Announcing the news, Olamide who just dropped his 9th body of work titled “999″ wrote on Twitter;

Olamide in a series of tweets went on to call out fans and critics who have once polarized him for not breaking into the international music market like Davido and Wizkid because he is an indigenous rapper.

In my opinion, I think YBNL is more of a movement. Extra-talented young artistes busting onto the scene with mega hits and getting all the love from music fans. Olamide is a king in his genre no doubt but this Fireboy guy… his music is like fire. Consuming everything in its path. And any music lover that contacts his music will be ‘burnt’. Congrats to this group and more success.
