The Federal Ministry of Health has on Saturday confirmed 10 new cases of Corona Virus also known as COVID-19 in Nigeria.
Of the 10 new cases, 3 are said be in the Federal Capital Territory, while the remaining 7 are in Lagos. 9 out of the 10 cases have travel history outside Nigeria in the last one week. The 10th case is a close contact of a confirmed case.
It will be recalled that when the last 4 new cases were announced, the commissioner for health in Lagos State Professor Akin Abayomi stated that:
Currently, we are following over 1,300 people right now to find information about the state of their health and the number is increasing.
It is unknown as at press time if these new 10 cases are directly related to these 1300 people that were traced.

The National Center for Disease control added that all the new cases have mild to moderate symptoms, and are being managed at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital and Infectious Disease Hospital, Lagos. The agency urged Nigerians to remain calm and adhere to social distancing practises and other precautionary measures.

The 10 new cases brings the total confirmed number of infected persons in Nigeria to 22, out of which two have made full recovery.
In the world as at 1 pm today March 21st, there are 286,954 cases in total, 11,890 deaths and 93,602 recoveries.
