Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau’s Wife Recovers From Coronavirus
Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau, the wife of Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has recovered from the novel coronavirus, it emerged on Saturday.
She had tested positive for the virus on March 12 after returning from Britain, while her husband went into self-quarantine as a precautionary measure.
Justin Trudeau has, since his self isolation began, been giving daily press briefings from the porch of his residence.
She posted on her Facebook page on Saturday night;
I am feeling so much better and have received the all clear from my physician and Ottawa Public Health.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you to everyone who reached out to me with their well wishes.
Sophie added that;
I strongly believe that science AND compassion will get us through this crisis.That means listening and following the health protocols and staying at home for the time being.
However, Justin Trudeau told reporters he intended to remain with his family at his residence even though his 14-day isolation period had ended.
Canada has more than 5,616 confirmed coronavirus cases, including 61 deaths and 445 people have recovered.
Meanwhile, Boris Johnson, British Prime Minister has also tested positive for the coronavirus.
The prime minister, disclosed his health status on March 27 via a tweet accompanied by a video of himself addressing his followers.
