Corona Virus: Singer Runtown Shares N10 Million To Nigerians
Nigerian Singer Runtown on Wednesday morning announced that he would be giving out N10 million to Nigerians as his own contribution towards helping people get through the Corona Virus pandemic.
He made the announcement on microblogging social networking site Twitter, saying:
HOPE EVERYONE IS STAYING SAFE. TIMES ARE EXTREMELY TOUGH AND I AM CERTAIN THERE ARE PEOPLE WITH NO MONEY TO STOCK UP ON SURVIVAL ESSENTIALS . WILL BE GIVING OUT 10 MILLION NAIRA TO THIS CAUSE. KINDLY DROP YOUR ACCOUNT DETAILS
— Runtown (@iRuntown) March 25, 2020
The tweet has since it was posted gotten over 37,000 replies, leading to the singer becoming one of the most discussed topics on the social networking platform. As a result of the over whelming replies, the singer added:
NOTE: OBVIOUSLY 10 MILLION NAIRA WOULD NOT GO ROUND, SO IF YOU HAVE OTHER MEANS TO SUSTAIN YOURSELF, RESPECTFULLY DON’T SEND IN YOUR ACCOUNT https://t.co/JXsrQ1Wy26

From the screenshots recipients shared of the largesse, Runtown appears to be giving out N20,000 per recipient, which will only reach 500 people, as compared to the over 37,000 replies that the post has gotten. Another Twitter user who tweets with the handle @ebankszz however claims that Runtown made an extra sum of N5million available, which will be shared to another set of 500 people. See his tweet below:
My brother Runtown has given me additional 5million Naira to share so drop details below and will sending 10k to the first 500 people to drop their details.

@Ebankszz‘s claim could however not be verified as at press time, as Runtown is yet to mention the additional N5million on his Twitter page.
