Coronavirus: Federal Government Closes All Land Borders, Postpones FEC Meetings Indefinitely
Federal government has on March 23 announced the closure of all land borders for four weeks.
Secretary to the government of the federation and chairman of presidential task force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, disclosed this on March 23.
He also announced that weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meetings will be suspended till further notice.
Mustapha added that the council of state meeting earlier scheduled for March 26 has also been postponed
This is following the increase in number of cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria. The cases in Nigeria have been on the rise in the past few days as 36 persons have tested positive for COVID-19.
Also the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed the death of a 67-year-old man who returned to the country following medical treatment in the United Kingdom.
The victim’s identity was revealed to be a former Managing Director of Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC), Suleiman Achimugu.
