This announcement follows a previous post stating that he is now part of the league of billionaires and corporate organizations joining force financially to support the Federal Government to combat the pandemic.
Otedola tweeted saying;
The fight to control and eradicate the COVID-19 is in our hands. A few of us have decided to pool resources to support the government’s effort in building the needed capacity to flatten the curve. Stay Home and Stay Safe. …F.Ote💲 pic.twitter.com/GW8QwcjiQD

Other billionaires in this league are Tony Elumelu, Aliko Dangote, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Herbert Wigwe, Segun Agbaje, and Jim Ovia.
Otedola’s donation comes as no surprise as he is known widely for his philanthropic activities and charitable deeds.
Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, had earlier in the week pledged a donation of N50m to support government’s effort in fighting the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country.
It could also be recalled that, MDB reported that Chinese billionaire and co-founder of the Alibaba group, Jack Ma had recently donated 1.8 million Coronavirus test kits and other medical supplies, which arrived in the country on March 22.
As at the time of filing this report, Nigeria accounts for 81 confirmed Coronavirus cases, 3 discharged cases and one death.
