Total Coronavirus infection toll in Nigeria had risen to 305 on Friday night after Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 17 new cases.
The centre in a tweet made this known, revealing that 8 cases were reported in Lagos, 3 in Katsina, 2 in FCT and one case each in Niger, Kaduna, Anambra and Ondo state.
Meanwhile, the Rivers and Ondo State Government has on Saturday reversed concession granted to churches to hold Easter church services amid coronavirus pandemic.
On Thursday, Governor Nyesom Wike had urged Muslims in the state to observe Jumaat prayers on Friday and Christians to hold services with their full congregation on Easter Sunday.
Akeredolu also announced this decision via an official tweet after meeting with the state’s chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Akeredolu’s decision came after Nigerians through a Twitter campaign with the hashtag #LockDownOndo implored the Governor to restrict movement on Easter Day in order to avoid the spread of Coronavirus.
