Popular British singer and songwriter, Adele could part with half of her over £180 million fortune after she reportedly won her request to have her divorce proceedings with ex-husband, Simon Konecki kept private.

The multiple award-winning singer split from her philanthropist and charity entrepreneur husband April 2019 after eight years of marriage that produced their seven-year-old son, Angelo.

It was gathered that a judge in Los Angeles reportedly granted the 31-year-old singer her request to ensure their divorce settlement is not made public, Metro UK reports.

This means ‘financial, sales or other confidential business information’ will be kept under wraps and those who require access to those details will likely have to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)

According to a report by The Sun, a source said the decision was made because the couple are committed to keeping the details as private as possible for the sake of their son, adding that;

They are trying to work out their issues. Hollywood divorces can drag on for years and become extremely ugly. Adele and Simon clearly don’t want that.

Adele filed for divorce in September citing irreconcilable differences and requested joint custody of Angelo, stating they (the former couple) are on the same page about co-parenting.

Reports say she has been romantically linked to Grime music artist Skepta.

46-year-old Simon also agreed that all financial issues surrounding the end of the couple’s marriage should be handled ‘in private mediation’, according to legal documents obtained by The Blast.

It has been widely reported that the pair did not have a prenup (an agreement made between two people before marrying that establishes rights to property and support in the event of divorce or death) and could split the $180 million (£144 million) fortune in half for divorce settlement.

This spilt of fortune has sparked varying conversations on micro-blogging platform, Twitter as users evaluate the couples’ decision to keep court proceeding secret.
