Big brother Naija 2017 housemate, Omololu Shomuyiwa popularly known as Lolu has announced the demise of his brother-in-law to the coronavirus pandemic.
Lolu who tweets with the handle @officialomololu while announcing called on well meaning Nigerians to put his family in prayers.
His tweet reads;
About an hour ago, I lost my brother-in-law to coronavirus. Pleases remember our family in your prayers. Thank you.
Lolu is the first known celebrity in Nigeria to lose someone to the deadly virus that has infected over 1.7 million people in the world.
As at April 11, there are 305 reported cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
According to Worldometers, a website that gives live updates on the virus, there are globally 1,209,547 (96%) Coronavirus patients in mild condition while 50,046 (4%) are in severe condition.
In other news, the United States has on Saturday surpassed Italy in the total number of confirmed deaths from the coronavirus as the total number stood at 20,110.
The virus has killed 19,468 in Italy – 32 individuals per 100,000 people – while in the United States, the number of deaths per 100,000 people is six.
The country’s death toll, which has doubled over the past week, is now increasing by nearly 2,000 on most days.
