Coronavirus: Infection Toll Rises To 1728 After NCDC Confirmed 196 New Cases
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 196 new Coronavirus cases in the country.
This was announced by the centre in its daily COVID-19 report via a series of tweets on Wednesday night.
According to the NCDC’s report, 87 cases were reported in Lagos, 24 in Kano, 18-Gombe, 17-Kaduna, 16-FCT, 10-Katsina, 8-Sokoto, 7-Edo, 6-Borno and one case each in Yobe, Ebonyi and Adamawa.

In the wee hours of Wednesday, Nigeria had recorded 1532 cases, 255 discharged patients and 44 deaths.
However, with the new cases recorded, there are now 1728 Coronavirus cases, 307 discharged and 51 deaths across the country.
Meanwhile, according to a report on NCDC’s website, Nigeria as at April 28th had tested 12004 Coronavirus samples.
In other news, Lagos State has discharged 49 recovered COVID-19 patients from its isolation facilities.
The announcement was made today by Lagos State Ministry of Health via its official Twitter handle.
So far, this is the highest number of Coronavirus cases discharged in one day in the State.
With the new discharged patients, Lagos now has a total of 187 recovered patients.
