FCCPC Seals Popular Cosmetic Surgery Clinic, Med Contour
Federal Competitive and Consumer Protective Commission (FCCPC) has sealed a cosmetic surgery outfit, Med Contour over alleged series of botched surgeries on patients.
It would be recalled that Med Contour and the owner, Dr. Anu Felix recently came under heavy censure after a Twitter user, Omotola Taiwo popularly known as @Omohtee12, in a viral video complained of a botched surgery she had at the clinic.
In the video, the Twitter user claimed to have spent huge sums of money to recover after her surgery at Med Contour went wrong due to their alleged lack of professionalism and competence.
FCCPC in a statement has now indicated that the commission has begun an investigation into the practices and process of Med Contour’s potential violation of patient rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) and Sundry Enactments.
In a release by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Babatunde Irukera said the commission’s initial review indicates that there is sufficient probable cause to inquire into the consumer protection aspects of the representations and services of Med Contour and its operatives.
FCCPC has also requested that credible information from previous clients regarding the operations of Med Contour be sent to the commission.
