Funke Akindele: Former Lagos Governorship Candidate, Gbadamosi Arrested
Former gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, Babatunde Gbadamosi, has been arrested and detained by Lagos State Police Command for contravening the lockdown order declared by the State Government to curtail coronavirus spread.
He was detained after celebrity couple, Funke Akindele-Bello and her husband, Abdul-Rasheed Bello (JJC Skillz) pled guilty to hosting an event with over twenty persons in attendance.

Gbadamosi was spotted in a video of the birthday party organized by the couple that went viral on Sunday in celebration of JJC Skillz’s 43rd birthday which took place on Saturday.
The offence was contrary to the social distancing directives made in pursuant to Regulation 8(1)(a) and (b) & 17(1)(i) of the Lagos State Infectious Disease (Emergency Prevention) Regulations 2020.
Following the arrest of the actress, Gbadamosi took to his Twitter page to apologise, saying he had gone to the Bello’s residence “thinking he would only meet the family and their staff.“
In the 1 minute 30 seconds video he shared on Twitter, Gbadamosi said he regretted not leaving the residence before a celebrity came into the house with some people.
Funke Akindele and her husband were arrested and arraigned in court on Monday. They were sentenced to 14 days of community service, fined N100,000 each and 14 days of isolation in an unknown location.
A police source at the command headquarters revealed that Gbadamosi has been detained and will be charged to court for engaging in an act that was at variance with the law.
Lagos Police Command said Naira Marley who was also spotted at the event has been arrested as well and will be charged to court on Tuesday for violating the order.
