Funke Akindele Speaks On Coronavirus Pandemic Days After Being Prosecuted For Violating Lockdown Order In Lagos

Nollywood Actress Funke Akindele-Bello has finally broken her silence after being prosecuted for breaking the social distancing order in Lagos State.

MDB had reported that the actress on April 4th hosted a party for her husband Abdulrasheed Bello aka JJC Skillz which had a number of people in attendance including singer Naira Marley.

The actress in her first social media engagement since the occurrence shared a sensitisation video across her social media platforms.

She talked about her ordeal, thanking her fans for their unwavering support. The actress also admonished Nigerians to take social distancing very seriously.

Funke Akindele in her video stated;

These past few weeks have been a learning curve but we must keep moving forward. My dear friends, coronavirus is real. We must collaborate with the Lagos State Government and Federal Government by staying at home, staying safe.

It would be recalled that Naira Marley and former governorship candidate in Lagos, Babatunde Gbadamosi were also arrested to be arraigned but the cases against them were dropped.

Funke Akindele-Bello and her husband were sentenced to 14-day community service, fined N100,000 each and were to spend 14 days in isolation for hosting more persons than permitted by the lockdown law.
