Just In: Nigeria Records 64 New Coronavirus Cases
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 64 new Coronavirus cases in the country.
This was announced by the centre in its daily COVID-19 report via a series of tweets on Monday night.
According to the NCDC’s report, 34 were reported in Lagos, 15-FCT, 11-Borno, 2-Taraba and 2 in Gombe.

In a follow up tweet, the centre stated that one case previously reported in Lagos is now a FCT case.
It added that the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos is now at 764 and 157 in FCT.

As at Sunday night, Nigeria had recorded 1273 cases, 239 discharged patients and 40 deaths across the country.
However, with the new cases, there are now 1337 Coronavirus cases, 255 discharged and 40 deaths.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has on Monday night approved a phased and gradual easing of the lockdown measures in the FCT, Lagos and Ogun states.

The President who said this during a televised broadcast stated that this new measure will take effective from Monday, 4th May, 2020 at 9am.
According to him, the decision was made in line with the recommendations of the Presidential COVID-19 Task Force, various Federal Government committees and the Nigeria Governors Forum.
