Nigeria Confirms 49 New Coronavirus Cases
Forty-nine new cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Nigeria – 23 in Lagos, 12 in FCT, 10 in Kano, 2 in Ogun and one each in Oyo and Ekiti.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced this in a tweet on Saturday night.

In a follow up tweet from NCDC, it was revealed that there are Coronavirus cases in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with Lagos being the worst-hit state – 306 cases.
Other states with cases are FCT – 81, Kano – 37, Osun – 20 among others.

MDB had reported that NCDC in a series of tweets on Friday night confirmed fifty-one new cases of Coronavirus.
The centre in a tweet also stated that as at 17th April, there were 493 Coronavirus cases reported in Nigeria, 159 discharged and 17 deaths.
However, as at 10:40 pm 18th April, there are now 542 confirmed cases of Coronavirus reported in Nigeria, 166 discharged and 19 deaths.
Meanwhile, Bauchi state has discharged one of the remaining two patients of coronavirus in after testing negative to the virus.
This was disclosed by the special adviser to Governor Bala Mohammed on New Media, Lawal Muazu Bauchi on Saturday evening.
While commenting on the positive development, Governor Bala Mohammed thanked health personnel and the state task force on COVID-19 for their unrelenting efforts in tackling the spread of the disease.
Governor Bala Mohammed also urged all indigenes and residents of the state to continue to work with the state government to complement its efforts at keeping the state free of COVID-19.
