Oyo Records Two New Cases Of Coronavirus
Oyo State Government on Tuesday said the state has recorded two new cases of Coronavirus also known as COVID- 19.
The governor of the state, Seyi Makinde, who also doubles as the head of COVID-19 taskforce made this known in a series of tweets via his official Twitter handle.
He said;
The COVID-19 confirmation test for two suspected cases came back POSITIVE, today. One of the new cases is a 28-year-old woman who returned to the country from the United Arab Emirates on March 22, 2020.

The governor stated that the second case is a 42-year-old man who is a contact of an earlier confirmed COVID-19 case.

He explained that;
The isolation process has been initiated, contact tracing and collection of samples have commenced.
This brings the number of confirmed cases in Oyo State to eleven. Two cases have been discharged. So, there are nine active cases.

Makinde also urged the people of the state to adhere to the directives of relevant bodies on the need to stop the spread of the virus.
He stated that;
Please, keep following the directives of the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force. Wash your hands with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, regularly. Also, continue to maintain social distancing.

With the two new cases, total number of confirmed Coronavirus in the state has risen to eleven.
It would be recalled that Governor Makinde on Sunday announced in a tweet that he tested negative to Coronavirus after a second test for COVID-19.
It would be recalled that on March 30, Oyo state Governor tested positive for coronavirus, after which he went into self isolation to receive medical attention.
