A white woman, Amy Cooper has been fired for falsely accusing a black man of threatening her life while taking a walk with her dog in New York’s Central Park.

According to Franklin Templeton investment company where she worked, Amy Cooper was sacked after an internal review of video of the incident, which was posted on Twitter by Melody Cooper, a sister to the black man.

In the video, Cooper was seen disobeying a rule of the park which states that dogs must be on-leash.

The African American man identified as Christian Cooper (no relations to Amy) asked the woman to obey the rule by leashing her dog.

Amy Cooper refused, then went ahead to call the police and falsely claimed that an ‘African American man’ was threatening her life.

The video went viral and sparked outrage on social media, which at first led the company to put the woman on administrative leave.
