Artiste Slimcase Under Fire For Distasteful Comment Made About Tina Who Was Shot Dead By Police In Lagos

Popular musician, Oluwafemi Oladapo Oko-Eko also known as Slimcase has been the subject of criticism, over his distasteful comment about the killing of 16-year-old Tina Ezekwe, who was recently shot dead by a police officer at Iyana-Oworo area of Lagos state.

Slimcase in an Instagram post made on  May 30th paid tribute to an African American man, George Floyd, who was unlawfully killed by a White man, Derek Chauvin, by kneeling on the victim’s neck for over 8 minutes.

However, in the comment section, a follower with the handle @olamiposi_hope_ called out the singer for his bias in paying tribute to a foreigner but not to Tina who died in Lagos.

Slimcase replied by saying George Floyd’s death is a global pandemic, while Tina’s killing should be left for local media outlets to report.

This comment sparked outrage on social media, as many Nigerians described the artiste’s statement as ‘distasteful‘ and ‘insensitive.’
