Good News: Lagos Discharges 60 Coronavirus Patients, Kano Discharges Three
Lagos State Government has on Tuesday announced the discharge of 60 recovered Coronavirus patients.
The State Ministry of Health made this known via its official Twitter page.
It stated that 20 females and 40 males were discharged from Lagos isolation facilities at Yaba, Ibeju-Lekki & Eti-Osa (Landmark).

The Ministry of Health in a follow up tweet noted that 31 of the recovered patients were discharged from Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), 19 from Ibeju-Lekki and 10 from Eti-Osa isolation facilities.

With the newly discharged patients, there are now 321 recoveries in Lagos as at May 5th.
In the same vein, the Kano State Government has also discharged three Coronavirus patients after testing negative twice for the virus.
This is the first batch of recovered and discharged patients since the state recorded its first case in April.
Tijani Hussain, Coordinator of the Technical Response Team on COVID-19, broke the news in Kano on Tuesday afternoon.
The coordinator stressed that the task force was strictly operating on the guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on admission and discharge of cases.
He added that more patients in its isolation centre will be discharged this week.
Hussain stated;
Kano positive cases still stands at 365 including eight deaths and three discharge. So far we have collected 313 samples, 182 tested at Abuja, 60 at AKTH and 71 confirmed at BUK test centres. So far we have 22.8 per cent of positive cases in Kano.
We are on contact tracing of over 400, 64 are without symptoms and seven are positive. We still have the challenge of resistance and non-disclosure of status from our contacts.
He revealed that the state is working towards establishing sample collections across the 44 local government areas.
