Just In: FG Evacuates 292 Stranded Nigerians In Saudi Arabia
Federal Government has evacuated a new batch of 292 stranded Nigerians from Saudi Arabia, it emerged on Tuesday.
The flight conveying the evacuees arrived yesterday night at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
According to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, who made the announcement on Twitter, the evacuees with a large number of nursing mother and children, were flown to Abuja.
This comes as the fourth batch of Nigerians repatriated since the outbreak of the virus in the country. Nigerians from United Arab Emirates (265); United Kingdom (253) and the United States (160) were successfully evacuated.
With the latest returnees, there are now a total of 970 stranded Nigerians who have been evacuated.
Onyeama stated that the returnees are doing well and have all settled down in various hotel for the mandatory 14-day quarantine.
His tweet reads;

Meanwhile, this comes three days after Lagos state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi announced in a tweet that three Nigerians evacuated from Dubai have tested positive for coronavirus.
