Just In: Lagos Discharges 21 COVID-19 Patients
Lagos State Government has discharged 21 additional coronavirus patients from its isolation facilities after testing negative twice.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who made the announcement via Twitter on Sunday, said 4 of the discharged patients are females, while 17 are males.
Dear Lagosians,
I come bearing good news.
Today, 21 #COVID19 patients; 4 females and 17 males, all Nigerians have been discharged from our isolation facilities to reunite with the society.

The Governor added that the patients were discharged from Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Onikan, Eti-Osa, First Cardiology Hospital and Lekki isolation facilities.
The patients, 3 from Onikan, 1 from Eti-Osa, 1 from First Cardiology Hospital, 6 from Lekki and 10 from the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Isolation Centres were discharged today having fully recovered and tested negative to #COVID19 in two consecutive test readings.

With the newly discharged patients, there are now 469 recoveries from coronavirus in Lagos state.
With this, the total number of cases successfully managed and discharged from our isolation facilities has risen to 469.
The discharge of #COVID19 patients is encouraging but we must continue to practice hand hygiene, wear a mask and physically distance ourselves when outdoors.

Governor Sanwo-Olu concluded by appealing to Lagosians to continue to obey stipulated public health safety guidelines in order to break the chain of coronavirus transmission.

Meanwhile, Lagos State remains the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria with 1,764 cases out of the country’s overall figure of 4,151 infections.
Lagos is followed by Kano with 576 confirmed cases and FCT with 343 cases.
