Lagos To Deliver Agege-Pen Cinema Bridge By November
Lagos State Government has announced that Agege-Pen Cinema Bridge will be completed and delivered by November, 2020.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructures, Engr. Aramide Adeyoye disclosed this while giving account of the Ministry’s activities in the last one year.
Adeyoye stated;
The construction of Pen Cinema flyover and access roads in Agege, currently at over 50% stage of work, is scheduled for completion in November 2020. After completion, the flyover is expected to resolve the constant traffic gridlock in Agege and its environs.
She stated that the administration plans to expand the Agege-Berger road to reduce travel time in the state.
Adeyoye noted that one of the major facilities that would accompany the expansion work is provision of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane to transport several people coming into the state, that might have alighted at Berger Bus Stop.
She added that;
This will afford commuters the opportunity to connect Agege and Abule-Egba from Berger axis of the state. That is what we have slated for next year.
We have started working on the design as I speak and I am sure that by the end of the fourth quarter, we will be done with all the designs and cost of the road ahead of next year’s budget.
Adeyoye disclosed that the state government has awarded Ijedodo road, which has been abandoned for years, to Messers Oceanic.
On the proposed 4th Mainland Bridge, the Special Adviser said the project has been in the pipeline for about 20 years and is intended to provide a useful additional link between the Lagos Mainland [Ikorodu] and the Eti-Osa corridor.
She further disclosed that the state government has achieved a lot in the last one year in terms of works and infrastructure, especially in the rehabilitation and maintenance of roads through the Public Works Corporation (PWC).
Adeyoye assured that all ongoing and uncompleted projects inherited especially from immediate past administration will be completed to improve the standard of living for Lagosians.
