A new video has surfaced on social media, showing three Minneapolis Police Department officers kneeling on George Floyd during his arrest, an action which later led to his death.
A previous video that was shared online by an eyewitness Darnella Frazier, had shown the arrest of Floyd but from an angle where only one police officer, Derek Chauvin, knelt on the neck of the victim, despite plea for eyewitnesses and Floyd himself.
The first video went viral on Monday, which caused public outcry on social media and eventually resulted to physical protests in different cities in the United States, demanding justice for the unlawful murder of George Floyd.
However, a new video has now shown another angle of the arrest, revealing Chauvin and two other white officers kneeling on the victim.
And just like in the first video, Floyd could be heard in the new footage saying; ‘I can’t breathe, man. Please, let me stand. Please, man.’
Following persistent outcry from protesters due to the first video, the four officers involved in the incident were fired from the Minneapolis Police Department.
Chauvin was also taken into custody on Friday afternoon, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
He is to be charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.
