“No Movement For Ogun Residents Working In Lagos” – Gov Abiodun
Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun has said residents of the state who work in Lagos State are not permitted to move out or into the state ahead of the lockdown ease which starts on 4th of May.
The lockdown ease was approved by President Buhari on Monday after an initial lockdown placed in Lagos, Ogun and FCT since March.
However, Governor Abiodun’s new instruction comes a day after he extended the COVID-19 lockdown in Ogun State by one week, contrary to the FG ease.
With the one week extension in Ogun, the lockdown will now end on 9th of May.
Ogun State, as a result of its proximity to Lagos, plays host to many people who work in the large commercial hub, where offices will be reopened from Monday, May 4th.
Many of those who live in Ogun communities like Mowe, Ibafo, Akute, Agbado, Ifo, Sango, Ota, Ogijo and others, work in Lagos.
Governor Abiodun has now re-echoed that there is a total ban on interstate travel outside Ogun State.
According to him, anybody who works in Lagos or any other neighbouring states, but lives in Ogun, will not be allowed to go and return to the State.
He said;
There is a total ban on interstate travel (outside Ogun). If you work in Lagos or any other state but you live in Ogun State, you are not allowed to go to Lagos or any other state and return to Ogun.
Governor Abiodun informed that burials and naming ceremonies are allowed, but there must not be more than 15 persons present, including the officiating ministers.
