Police Arrests Man Who Went On Facebook To Brag About Brutally Battering Wife, Shared Photos Of Her Bleeding Face
Police command in Lagos State has arrested a man who went on Facebook to brag about battering his wife and shared photos of her bleeding face.
In his Facebook post on Wednesday, the man identified as Afobaje Maiyegun, posted the photos of his wife’s bleeding face with a caption which reads;
I beat my wife and I am waiting for her police because I talked to a woman. [sic]
However, on May 14 an update shared on Twitter by the Lagos State Domestic & Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) stated that Afobaje has been arrested.

DSVRT said preliminary investigation showed that this isn’t the first time Afobaje would carry out such dastardly act on his wife.
Immediately, the team reached out to ACP Gbolahan Odugbemi, Area Commander, Area J who ensured that the said person was arrested immediately. Preliminary investigation conducted revealed that this is not the first time the said Mr. Maiyegun would perpetrate such a dastardly act

The agency tweeted that Afobaje will be arraigned in court on Friday May 15.
A partner NGO, @HerfessionsApp was on ground to assist with the investigation. The case is set to be charged to court on Friday, 15th May,2020.

DSVRT in its concluding tweet gave a warning that there is zero-tolerance for sexual and gender based violence in the state and any perpetrator caught will face the wrath of the law.
This is to sound a clear warning that the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared a zero tolerance to Sexual and Gender Based Violence in the State and as such perpetrators will face the full weight of the law.
