President Buhari Set To Appoint Former External Affairs Minister, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari As Chief Of Staff
A former Minister of External Affairs, Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari is set to be appointed as the next Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, it has emerged.
Although the Presidency is yet to formally confirm this development, there are strong indications according to Channels TV that the announcement will be made at the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.
The FEC meeting was announced by Bashir Ahmed, the Personal Assistant on New Media to President Buhari.

If appointed, he would replace late Mallam Abba Kyari who died from coronavirus complications on April 18.
It would be recalled that Abba Kyari was on March 24 reported to have contracted the disease and was moved to Lagos for treatment but died while battling the virus.
Abba Kyari was interred at Gudu cemetery, Abuja on April 18 according to Islamic rites with numerous family members and friends present.
Prof. Gambari, 75, is a scholar and diplomat who hails from Ilorin, Kwara State. He was the Minister for External Affairs between 1984 and 1985.
He was the former Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations for the Department of Political Affairs (DPA) and the Chairperson African Peer Review Forum Panel of Eminent Persons.
