Renown Fuji MusicIan Alhaji Wasiu Tekoye Dies
Renown fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Ajani Tekoye also known as Pure Water, has passed away at age 52.
The musician died in the early hours of Thursday, May 14, at his residence in Moshalashi, Alimosho Local Government of Lagos State.
He will be buried according to Islamic rites at his family’s house by 10am on Friday, May 15th.
A Facebook user speaking on behalf of the family, Wale Onifade, broke the news on the platform giving few details about his time of death, his age, when and where his burial will take place.
His post reads;
Family Announce the Sudden Death of Alhaji Wasiu Ajani aka Pure Water. The family of Olaifa has announced the sudden departure of fuji music legend, Alhaji Wasiu Ajani otherwise known as Tekoye. Tekoye, 52 died at the early hours of today Thursday, May 14, 2020, at his residence in Moshalashi Area of Alimosho Local Government in Lagos. He will be buried according to Islamic rites at the family house tomorrow at 10 in the morning. Signed: Wale Onifade, For the family. [sic]
As at press time, the cause of his death is unknown.
