Ten Family Members, Eight Others Test Positive For COVID-19 In Kaduna
Kaduna state Governor Nasir El-Rufai has said out of 18 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the state on Thursday, 10 are members of the same family.
Announcing this in a tweet on Friday, El-Rufai stated that the new cases were recorded in Kaduna North, Zaria, Chikun and Sabon-Gari Local Government Areas.
His tweet reads;
18 new cases were recorded today, 10 of whom are family members of one case. 14 of the new cases are from Kaduna North, two from Zaria and one each from Chikun and Sabon-Gari LGAs.
The governor appealed to residents to adhere strictly to safety measures put in place to check the spread of the virus in the state.
As at press time, Kaduna has recorded 170 Coronavirus cases, 84 recoveries and 4 causalities.
In other news, Emir of Daura, Dr Farouq Umar, on Thursday evening, returned to Daura after spending almost a month battling an undisclosed illness.
On May 4th, the monarch was rushed out of Daura to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Katsina for treatment.
He was discharged from the centre last Thursday but spent another week in Katsina fully recovering.
The Emir’s spokesman, Usman Ibrahim, confirmed the return of the Emir to Daura without giving further details.
Ibrahim said;
Yes, the royal father returned to Daura yesterday (Thursday) evening. We thank Almighty Allah for that.
Also, shortly after his discharge, the Emir implored people to support the efforts by both Federal and the Katsina State governments in curbing the spread of COVID-19.
He said;
I want to draw the attention of the people world over that the current pandemic is not a joke, hence people should fear God and return to God. If the world is not settled, people should not expect anything good even if you are physically healthy.
