Twitter Users React To Evacuation Of 265 Nigerians From Dubai
Twitter users have reacted to the evacuation of 265 Nigerians from Dubai on Wednesday by the Federal Government, as part of its effort to evacuate willing citizens of the country amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The returnees arrived Lagos on Wednesday evening, aboard an Emirates Airline flight, which is the first of at least two other flights scheduled to evacuate Nigerians within the next few days.
According to the minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, all 265 returnees tested negative to COVID-19 before boarding the flight, but they are expected to be quarantined for 14 days in selected hotels to ascertain their coronavirus-free status.

The Minister had earlier revealed that over 4,000 Nigerians are waiting to be evacuated across the world back to the country.
MDB reported that discussions are ongoing with British Airways to airlift 300 Nigerians from London on Friday. Arrangements are also being made with Ethiopian airlines for a flight from New York to Abuja next Monday.

For this 256 Nigerians to openly come out and say they want to come back to their father land then alot of things is at stake at UAE.
Discrimination and racism is a general problem we all need to tackle globally
God bless us abundantly

At this point it looks safer for the 256 Nigerians to remain in UAE than return to Nigeria. pic.twitter.com/93l9CDw2I6

I want to believe there are plans for 256 Nigerians evacuated from Dubai.
I’m saying this because I have reached a point where I doubt the generosity of this Country.
I just hope this isn’t for the usual media charade.— Premier (@SodiqTade) May 7, 2020
