2020 BET Awards: Drake Leads Nomination, Burna Boy, Rema Nominated

Black Entertainment Television (BET) has on Monday announced nominations for the 2020 BET Awards, with Drake leading with 6 nominations including ‘Best Male Hip-Hop Artist’ and ‘Video of the Year’.

Meghan Thee Stallion and Roddy Rich followed closely with five nominations each.

Singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy was nominated for a ‘Best International Act’.

Other nominees in the Best International Act category include South African singer, Sho Madjozi and Innos’B from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This is the second time Burna Boy has been nominated in Best International Act after winning the award in 2019.

Young artiste, Divine Ikubor known as Rema, was nominated also for ‘Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act’.

The 2020 BET Awards will mark the ceremony’s 20th anniversary and BET’s 40th anniversary.

The Awards will air live on June 28 across ViacomCBS networks, including CBS for the first time.

The show, which will be a virtual celebration due to the coronavirus pandemic, will also air on BET and BET HER.
