2Baba Appointed UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador
Legendary Nigerian musician, Innocent ‘Tuface’ Idibia has been appointed as the new United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) ambassador.
UNHCR is an international agency targeted at protecting refugees, displaced communities, and stateless people by assisting their voluntary repatriation, local integration, or resettlement to another country.
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced this on Tuesday via its official Instagram page.
The ‘Amaka’ crooner confirmed his appointment on his Instagram page.
According to Tuface also known as 2baba, the appointment will deepen his commitment to supporting the efforts of UNHCR.
His post reads;
I am honored and humbled by my new appointment as a regional goodwill ambassador of UNHCR. Thanks for the recognition, this will no doubt deepen my commitment to supporting the effort of UNHCR personnel and volunteers who are on ground every day, working hard to provide support and hope to millions of forcefully displaced persons across the world. Blessings one and all.
The award-winning singer further commended the donors and supporters of the cause to help displaced persons around the world.
