30 COVID-19 Patients Recover In Abuja, 15 Discharged In Oyo

Thirty patients receiving treatment for coronavirus in the FCT, Abuja have been discharged after testing negative twice.

FCT Minister, Mohammed Bello who revealed this on Saturday said the total number of discharged patients in the nation’s capital has risen to 245.

He said;

I bring you good news as we successfully treated and discharged an additional thirty (30), coronavirus patients, from our treatment facilities in the FCT. The total number of discharged patients in the FCT is now 245.

Meanwhile, statistics from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) put infections in the nation’s capital at 862 infections.

While 22 have died from the virus, the active cases stand at 595.

Similarly, the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force said 15 COVID-19 patients have been discharged on Friday after testing negative twice.

Governor Seyi Makinde, who is the Chairman of the state task force, made the disclosure via his official Twitter handle.

This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 112 while the total number of fatalities in the state is seven.

The governor wrote that the COVID-19 confirmation tests for 16 suspected cases came back positive.

He wrote;

Fifteen confirmed COVID-19 cases have received their second negative test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 112.

The governor revealed that there are 16 new coronavirus patients in the state.

The cases were reported in Ibadan South West (11); Ibadan North West (2); Ido (1); Oluyole (1) and Ibadan North (1) local government areas.

As at press time, there are now a total of 334 confirmed cases in Oyo State.
