315 Evacuees To Arrive Nigeria From UK

Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has announced that 315 stranded nationals have been evacuated from the United Kingdom.

NiDCOM made this known via its Twitter handle on Sunday, stating that evacuees would arrive in Nigeria about 5pm on Sunday.

It tweeted;

Air Peace flight conveying another batch of 315 Nigerians departs Heathrow Airport, London today. The flight is expected to depart at about 10:30 am and is expected to arrive in Nigeria at about 5 pm local time today Sunday 28th, June 2020.


After their arrival in Nigeria, they are expected to proceed on a 14-day self-isolation as mandated by authorities.

This comes two days after over 300 Nigerians were evacuated from France, Sudan and South Africa via various charter flight.

There is now a total of 2,429 Nigerians that have been evacuated since the global lockdown as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Federal Government has set a maximum of four weeks to complete the evacuation of the Nigerians stranded in various countries.

According to the Presidential Taskforce (PTF), 1,000 Nigerians will be evacuated weekly.
