Breaking: APC NEC Affirms Ize Iyamu As Edo Governorship Candidate

National Executive Committee (NEC) has affirmed Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the representative of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Edo Governorship Election slated for September.

This comes after a ratification of the party primaries by the NEC at a meeting which took place at the State House in Abuja.

The NEC meeting, presided over by President Buhari, conformed his emergence as the party’s candidate and directed the immediate submission of his name to INEC in compliance with electoral guidelines.

Furthermore, to avoid complication, the NEC has also directed all party members and stakeholders alike to withdraw all court cases and commit to unification efforts meant to secure victory for the party at the polls.

Other decisions taken at the meeting includes the dissolution of the National Working Committee to be replaced by a Caretaker Committee chaired by Mai Mala Buni, the Governor of Yobe State.

Meanwhile, an Edo State High Court, sitting in Benin City also confirmed the membership of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as an authentic member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

One of the counsels to the APC candidate, Douglas Ogbakwa, stated that the court in recognizes Ize-Iyamu as a fully registered APC member.
