Breaking: Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Exceeds 16,000 As NCDC Reports 403 New Cases
Coronavirus infections toll in Nigeria has exceeded the 16,000 mark as the country records 403 new COVID-19 cases in 19 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the announcement late Sunday via its Twitter handle, bringing total confirmed infections to 16,085.
Its tweet reads;

This comes two days after surpassing the 15,000 mark by recording 15,682.
Also, with the record of 119 newly discharged patients, there are now 5,220 successfully managed cases.
However, coronavirus death toll increased from 407 confirmed yesterday to 420.
Meanwhile, total samples tested nationwide have moved from 90,464 to 92,924 as at June 13th, according to NCDC’s situation report.
In other news, Lagos state has discharged 48 coronavirus patients from its isolation facilities after testing negative.
Lagos State Ministry of Health (LSMOH) announced this on its official Twitter page on Sunday, stating that the discharged patients include 17 females and 31 males.
The recovered patients include 10 foreigners – Indians (2), Americans (4), Polish (2), Brazilian (1) and Dutch (1).
The ministry added that one patient was discharged from Onikan, 8 from Gbagada, 10 from Agidingbi, 14 from Lekki, 4 from Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, and 11 from Eti-Osa (LandMark).
With the newly discharged patients, there are now 1,185 fully recovered patients in Lagos.
