Governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu, has terminated the appointments of aides attached to his deputy, Agboola Ajayi.
This comes few hours after Akeredolu approved the sack of Ajayi’s spokesman, Allen Sowore.
Segun Ajiboye, chief press secretary to Governor Akeredolu made this known in a statement which reads;
Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has relieved the following aides of their appointments.
The affected aides are; Mr Olomu Bayo, Special Assistant, Special Duties; Mr. Olawale Abolade Mukaila, Special Assistant, Photography; Mr. Babatope Okeowo, Deputy Chief Press Secretary; Mr. Samuel Ogunmusi, Personal Assistant, (Deputy Governor); Mr. Omotunmise Tokunbo, Special Assistant to the wife of the Deputy Governor; Mrs Erifeyiwa Shola Akinnugba, (Photography, wife of the Deputy Governor).
The affected aides are advised to submit all government’s property in their possession to the Chief of Staff to the Governor. Arakunrin Akeredolu wishes them luck in their future endeavors.
The sack is not unconnected with the running battle between Agboola Ajayi and his boss, Akeredolu which finally led to the resignation of the deputy governor from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ajayi defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where he has indicated interest to run against the governor in October.
Shortly after his resignation from APC, the Deputy Governor disclosed that he will not resign from office, stressing that the people who gave him the mandate did not ask him to resign as deputy governor.
There are however speculations that plans are in place to impeach Ajayi after he decamped to PDP.
