Fans in Nigeria and around the world are celebrating veteran singer Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’Banj as he marks his 40th birthday on June 9.
The singer and entrepreneur officially started his music career in 2005 with the release of his debut album, No Long Thing, which he dropped in conjunction with his then business partner and producer Don Jazzy under their Mo’Hits record.
He has since gained worldwide prominence, releasing several hit songs and international collaborations.
In celebration, the ‘Koko Master’ organized a virtual concert tagged D’Banj 40by40 to perform 40 of his greatest hit songs as he clocks 40.

Meanwhile, D’banj has petitioned the Inspector General of Police to look into the rape allegation leveled recently against him by one Seyitan.
On June 3rd, Seyitan’s friend who is a model scout, Benjamin Ese called out D’banj, accusing him allegedly raping his friend 2 years ago.
There was no response from the singer regarding the allegation, until Saturday when he announced that he had petitioned the police to investigate the accusation.
Seyitan, who came forward to identify herself as the alleged rape victim after her friend spoke up, also posted a letter from her lawyers demanding a public and private apology concerning the alleged rape.
