Football: Nigerian Tino Anjorin Signs Five-Year Contract With Chelsea
Faustino Anjorin, an English professional footballer of Nigerian descent has signed a new five-year contract with Chelsea.
The 18-year-old midfielder has committed his career to the Premier League club till June 2025.
After signing the new deal, Faustino known for short as Tino told Chelsea officials;
It is a brilliant feeling. I have been at the club since I was six years old so to get to this stage and then be offered another five-year contract on top of that is amazing.
I had no hesitation but to take it straight away because to play for the club I always dreamed of playing for is really special for me. It has been a really crucial season for young players here.
He added;
Other footballers like Frank, Jody Morris and Joe Edwards have taken us on board and really committed themselves to bringing young players through.
It has been really important to have those familiar faces around. It is easy to talk to people and be around the first team building more because you are welcomed in. Hopefully, I can try to carry on being a part of that as long as I keep working hard and impressing the coaches.
Tino Anjorin made his debut for the club in the 7-1 win over Grimsby in the Carabao Cup back in September.
He also featured as a substitute in Chelsea’s 4-0 win against Everton at Stamford Bridge in March.
