George Floyd killed by police officer
A full autopsy of George Floyd, the unarmed black man who died after being restrained by the neck by a White Minneapolis police, has revealed that the deceased had previously tested positive for COVID-19.

The 20-page report which provides several clinical details of Floyd’s death was released with the family’s permission and after a summary findings released on Monday showed that Floyd had a heart attack while being restrained by officers, and classified his May 25 death as a homicide.

The autopsy revealed that at the time of his death, George Floyd had no issues or active symptoms even though he had tested positive to coronavirus.

It said;

Positivity for 2019-nCoV can persist for weeks after the onset and resolution of clinical disease, the autopsy result most likely reflects asymptomatic but persistent PCR positivity from previous infection.

The report also noted Floyd’s lungs appeared healthy but he had some narrowing of arteries in the heart.

The summary findings earlier released had listed fentanyl intoxication and recent methamphetamine use under ‘other significant conditions’ but not under ‘cause of death.’

However, the full report’s footnotes noted that signs of fentanyl toxicity can include severe respiratory depression and seizures.

The autopsy comes after Floyd’s family attorney, Ben Crump, decried the official autopsy for ruling out asphyxia. An independent autopsy commissioned by the family concluded that he died of asphyxiation due to neck and back compression.
