George Floyd: US Embassy Staff In Nigeria Take A Knee In Support Of Protesters
Staff of the United States Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria have shown their support for the Black Lives Matter movement and the call for justice regarding the unlawful killing of African-American man, George Floyd.
In a tweet, the staff of the embassy expressed solidarity by going on one knee in 84 seconds of silence, a gesture that shows support for the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.
The US Mission to Nigeria in the tweet said it joined the movement to demand justice for George and others who have died as a result of police brutality or racism.
The Mission further stated that it sincerely hopes everyone will learn from the protests and use it as inspiration to create a better world.
Its tweet reads;

The Mission added that it hopes both Nigerians and Americans would seize the opportunity to promote peace and harmony among all humans.
Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement and demonstrations have been ongoing in America and other countries who joined in solidarity against police brutality and racism towards African-Americans.
The campaign broke out following recent brutal killing of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmed Aubrey in the US.
