A Nigerian model scout, Benjamin Ese has called out award-winning musician and entrepreneur, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, better known as D’banj, accusing him of raping his friend 2 years ago.
The accusation was made after the ‘Oliver Twist’ crooner joined online campaigns against sexual violence, demanding justice for rape victims in an Instagram post.
His post reads;
No means No. We Need to Raise Our Sons right and Teach them to love and Respect Women .We Need Justice for Our GIRLS. Say NO to Rape, Racism, tribalism. Let us stop living in FEAR and HATE ,and start living in LOVE.
Countering D’banj’s stance on rape, Ese made a post on his Instagram page, saying the singer had no right to speak against rape and accused him of being a rapist.
He alleged that D’banj offered his friend money in exchange for sex in 2018 but she refused.
According to Ese, D’banj collected the spare key of the girl’s hotel room where she was lodged in Victoria Island and allegedly raped her in the room.
Although he did not mention the name of his friend, Ese claimed that she decided to keep quiet after the incident because of the stigma.

The allegation has since sparked outrage on social media, as fans of the artiste and other curious Nigerians expressed their varying opinions about the accusation.
As at press time, D’banj is yet to react to the allegation.
Similarly, D’Banj’s music colleague, Peruzzi was also accused of rape earlier today but the singer vehemently denied the allegation.
